Mississippi Addiction Professionals Certification Manual
This manual outlines the certification standards for addiction professionals in the State of Mississippi. It serves as a comprehensive guide for individuals seeking certification and for the Certification Examining Board, which oversees and administers the certification process.
Updates to the Recertification Process
In August 2019, the Certification Examining Board approved changes to the recertification requirements, specifically related to HIV training.
Effective July 1, 2020, the previous requirement of 2 hours of HIV training every two years was replaced with a requirement of 2 hours of Person-Centered Planning training within each recertification cycle.
Latest Certification Manual Update
Effective January 1, 2026, the Certification Manual has been updated to reflect current certification standards, application requirements, portfolio expectations, and recertification criteria, as approved by the Certification Examining Board. Applicants and credential holders are responsible for ensuring they reference and comply with the most current version of the manual when submitting applications or renewal materials.
